Chestnut Class

Welcome to Chestnut Class!

Teacher: Mr Keirle

Year 5 and 6 Curriculum Map

Class Information

Mr Keirle teaches in Chestnut Monday – Friday.

Chestnut class is also supported every morning throughout the week by Mrs Wood.

P.E.

Mr Tyrell will teach PE to Chestnut class on Tuesday afternoons  and Mrs Arrowmsith will teach PE on a Friday. The class can need to come to school in their P.E. kit and wear it all day. Please make sure to also send a coat as we will be going to the field as often as possible, even in the rain.

Homework

Children will be set weekly homework and they will always be expected to read daily. The children have all been sent home with reading records so these should be used to record their reading.  Homework will be handed out on a Friday and needs to be returned by the following Wednesday.

Reading

In reading we will continue to use Accelerated Reader (AR), which assesses reading levels through vocabulary and comprehension. Children have been given Reading Record books for them/you to record and make notes in. We will also add book quiz and diagnostic scores in here for you to see. Children need to have access to their reading record all the time so please ensure it comes to school everyday.
