Chestnut class spent a fantastic day with artist Iola Weir, making giraffe and zebra headdresses in readiness for their performance of ‘Tuishi Pamoja’.
The used corrugated cardboard, masking tape and papier mache to make the headresses. The children worked with determined perseverance to assemble their designs and they added ears, eyes and decoration to make each design unique and individual.
The results are superb and we are sure that it will make the performance all the more spectacular.
The workshop was funded by the Helen Foundation and Chestnut class were lucky enough to meet Annie and Roger Kirk during the workshop where they watched the children making their headdresses and talked about their work with the Helen Foundation.
