Finger Gym

We have been working on our fine motor skills in Willow. Our New Finger gym activity helps us to develop strong, flexible fingers, hands and arms. It promotes better hand-eye co-ordinations, differentiated movement and manual dexterity. This week’s activity is: Can you match the magic gems to the correct number using the tweezers?

Potion Making

In Literacy we have been reading the book “Professor Puffendorf secret potions” by Robin Tzannes. We have been designing and making our very own potions in our new Potion Laboratory. We will also be learning lots about capacity in numeracy!

Willow and Cherry Class Exeter Cathedral Trip

We have had a fantastic trip to Exeter Cathedral, we went on a hunt to find clues which told the Christmas story. Making decorations was lots of fun too! [easingsliderpro id=”6″]      

Dough Disco!!

Dough disco is fun and active, it helps the brain gain control over the fingers and warm fingers up ready to write by developing fine motor control.  Try it at home!  Just ask your child to guide you through rolling, squeezing, working the thumbs and slapping the dough!!

Bonfire Night

In Willow Class we have been learning all about Bonfire Night. We have learnt how to keep safe on Bonfire night and why we celebrate it. We really enjoyed creating firework posters using wax crayons and blue ink! We have also been writing Firework acrostic poems in Literacy.

Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf in Kenton?

This half term we will be learning all about Traditional Tales, we will be looking at Little Red Riding Hood in lots of detail. Today we found lots of wolf footprints in the playground! I wonder who they belong to? They led the way to our new Wolf’s mud kitchen and Grandma’s cottage! Watch this…

Bug Hotels

Our topic this half term is Mini beasts. We have had lots of fun designing and creating bug hotels using natural materials. We looked closely at different habitats and carefully selected materials to create 5 different layers. We are very excited to find out who comes to stay in out hotels!  

Plymouth Aquarium Trip

This half term Cherry and Willow class had an exciting opportunity to visit Plymouth Aquarium. We learnt lots about different habitats under the sea and it was fantastic to see lots of different Sea creatures. Watch this space for lots of literacy work linked to our Aquarium trip!
