Oak Class in Bath

July 14, 2016Jo Hussain

As part of their topic on Romans, Oak class visited the Roman baths in Bath. After a long but fun journey up, the children walked through the cobbled backstreets of Bath, before arriving at the world famous Roman Baths.

The children started with a guided session with a Roman expert. They made mosaics, dressed as Romans and learnt about the food they ate in Ancient Rome. The children were shocked that the Romans ate things such as dormice and fish guts!

After lunch by the river, the class went on a self-guided tour of the baths. This ended with the much anticipated trip to the gift shop!

The children were fantastic all day, asking brilliant questions and sharing their extensive knowledge. Our guide was very complimentary about the Kenton children, saying they were the most polite, well informed group he’d ever had – I was very proud of all of them!

Well done Oak Class, what a lovely day!
