Children from Oak Class enjoyed a ‘Wildside Experience’ last week.
The overnight camp included teamwork games, nature activities, bat detecting and even a night-time rope walk through the woods! There was hot chocolate around the campfire before the children climbed into their sleeping bags in shared tents.
We were all woken by gentle violin music for a very early start the next morning (6am!) and a ‘quiet spots’ activity. The children were given individual places throughout the wood and left for twenty minutes to enjoy the woods at daybreak, looking and listening for wildlife.
Many felt this was their favourite activity of the whole experience. Back for breakfast, packing and clearing up the tents.
The children took part in some woodcraft activities and then had some free time to run through the meadow, play on the rope swing and say goodbye to the resident pigs, chickens and ponies.
What a wonderful trip!
