Cherry Class visit Powderham’s Garden Festival

May 15, 2015Jo Hussain

Cherry Class were invited to walk up to Powderham Castle for the 2015 Garden Festival and all had a wonderful, if slightly chilly morning!

After the walk up to Powderham, the children were treated to a fireworks display and even met Lady Devon!

Inside the show, they headed straight to the activities tent, especially set up for schools. The children took part in a range of activities, including carrot trumpet making and mud pie cooking! After the sessions in the tent, there was time to look around the festival and finish with a story in the story tent.

The children then had a lovely lunch on the grass, before the walk back to school. They were joined by the children from Class 2 at Kenn Primary school and when back at school, the children had some time to mix and make friends.

A lovely day was had by all.
