The children in Oak class have started doing some long exposure photographs.
Children looked at lots of examples and learned how to change the exposure time on a camera to allow more light into the camera lens. They also saw examples that had gone wrong so they knew what to try and avoid doing. The aim was to make it look like the children had magical powers coming from hands or from glowing heads.
To take good photos, the children needed to make sure the person in the picture stayed perfectly still; there was no light coming from windows; the torch light wasn’t on for too long; the torches were pointing towards the camera; time the exposure carefully. Lots of this came through trial and error.
