Our topic this term is ‘Planet Earth and Me’. As part of this topic, the children have learnt about our planet and space. They were very keen to learn about rockets – so we made some of our own!
The children used plastic bottles, pipes and tubes to create a system to launch paper rockets using air pressure. The rockets were great.
To the amazement of the on looking classes (who came out to see the big launch and provide a countdown), some of the rockets went as high as the school building!
The children learnt all amount measuring, cutting (using hacksaws), joining and the science behind the system.
