Roman Day

February 4, 2023Gemma Sandercock

Oak class have been exploring the Romans this half term.  As part of their learning they have had a visit from Story teller Steve Manning.

https://stevemanningstorytelling.co.uk/

Steve told the children all about the Roman Empire and all of the places they invaded. They looked at the armour, clothing and weapons worn by the soldiers and we got to try some of these on. They even learnt how these items were said in Latin. They had a go at marching on the playground as if they were part of a Roman legion. After, the children met a Roman soldier who told us all about his story and how he invaded Britain and how he was part of the legion that built Isca (now known as Exeter) 2000 years ago.
